Monitor wildlife, coppice woodland, cut hay and manage riverbanks while helping care for a reserve with woodland, an orchard, the Leigh Brook and wildflower meadows. Training in tool use is provided, and volunteering runs every Thursday.
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s Practical Conservation volunteering role at The Knapp and Papermill helps care for a reserve with woodland, an orchard, the Leigh Brook and wildflower meadows. Volunteers play an important part in practical conservation management, supporting the team to maintain the site’s special features and protect habitats for the future.
The work is hands-on and varied, with tasks that can include wildlife monitoring, coppicing, hay cutting and river bank management. It runs every Thursday all year round and is suitable for everyone. Volunteers should enjoy nature, be willing to work outdoors in all weathers, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Basic tool use is helpful, though training is provided. The role also offers the chance to learn about reserve management, observe wildlife and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors.
Sessions run weekly on Thursdays all year round
Volunteer role with no pay.
Free to join.
