Help manage wildflower-rich grasslands by cutting back brambles, removing invasive weeds and repairing fences that support grazing. You’ll work outdoors on a nature reserve, with training provided to use hand tools.
Practical conservation volunteers help Worcestershire Wildlife Trust manage wildflower-rich grasslands at Romsley Manor Farm Meadows. The role supports the care of local nature reserves across the county and helps maintain their special features for the future.
Typical tasks may include coppicing over-tall hedgerows, removing invasive weeds, reducing brambles and bracken, rejuvenating scrub and making repairs to fencing to help grazing. Volunteers should have an interest in wildlife conservation, be willing to work outdoors in all weathers, and be happy to take on a variety of practical tasks.
Training is provided for the use of hand tools.
Work parties generally take place on the third Monday of every month at 10am. The role is suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and offers the chance to learn more about habitat management while enjoying time outdoors and supporting local wildlife.
