Workshop: Broken Portraits: Experiments with the Photobooth, Take 2

Discover the quirks, mysteries and possibilities of the photobooth in this practical evening workshop led by photobooth expert and photographer Rafael Hortala Vallve and designer and creative director Corinne Quin.

Inspired by common "failures" of analogue photobooths, the session will experiment with partial development, exposure, vintage effects, focus recalibration and flash to explore how chemical, mechanical and material processes shape a portrait. Alongside hands-on exercises, the facilitators will share surprising and inventive photobooth misfires from the AUTOFOTO archive.

Participants will work in the Gallery's analogue photobooth and will each walk away with five unique photostrips produced during the experiments. Details on how to access the event will be confirmed upon registration; attendees should check junk folders for confirmation emails from TPG staff.
