Want your images seen worldwide? Enter the World Photography Organisation Youth Competition — submit up to three original 2026 photos for free, build your portfolio, gain exposure and compete for a top-10 shortlist judged by industry pros. Apply by 05 January 2027.
The World Photography Organisation’s Youth competition celebrates standout single images created by photographers aged 19 and under. Entry is free, and each entrant can submit up to three images related to the competition theme through the official website or one of the official Sony World Photography Award websites.
Entrants must upload original photographic work taken in 2026, and images are judged as single images rather than as a series. A shortlist of up to 10 photographers is selected, with global press exposure and online promotion available to shortlisted entrants.
The overall winner receives Sony Digital Imaging equipment, a trophy, certificate, copy of the book, inclusion in the annual book and exhibition, plus flights and accommodation to attend the black-tie awards ceremony in London. Winners are announced online and at the ceremony in April 2027.

Location
- Open to photographers aged 19 and under on the closing date.
- Entries must be submitted by the entrant’s parent or legal guardian if the entrant is under 16.
- Images must be taken in 2026.
- Entries must be based on the theme outlined on the website.
- Each entrant can submit up to three images for free.
- Images must be JPEG files and between 1MB and 5MB.
- Images must be saved in the sRGB colour model.
- Entrants must be able to supply a high-resolution image suitable for printing in media and exhibition if required.
- Computer-generated content cannot be the origin of the entry.
- If a winner is under 16, a signed parental or legal guardian consent form must be provided within 7 clear days of being declared a winner.
- Winners attending the ceremony in London need a valid ETA or Standard Visa for the UK.
