Devon County Council is offering six Year 12 work experience placements with its Waste Management Team. Over four days participants will take part in site visits, talks and practical activities to learn about waste collection, recycling and energy-from-waste operations, plus wider themes such as sustainability and the circular economy.

Activities include visits to an Energy from Waste plant and a recycling centre, sessions on sustainability and community engagement, and insight into how the team uses social media and public engagement. Placements will vary daily but will be mainly Exeter-based; full location details are provided after application.
