Want to design the future? Join the Young Architect Summer Experience at UCL to build sketching, model-making and software skills, create real design projects, and gain mentorship that boosts your university application and portfolio.

The Young Architect Summer Experience is an immersive summer school based at University College London for ambitious students aged 15-18 who want to explore architecture and boost university applications.

Over 1-2 weeks (programme described variously as a two-week experience), participants learn core architectural skills including planning, sketching, model-making and industry-standard software. The course features mentorship from senior architects, hands-on design projects where students create and present a sustainable building to a panel of industry professionals, and networking opportunities.

Students gain behind-the-scenes access through site visits to leading architecture firms in London and have the option to earn a UCAS-accredited qualification to support university applications. Accommodation is available for those who need it.

Dates are offered across summer (example start dates include 6 Jul, 27 Jul and 17 Aug 2026).
