Test-drive architecture in a one-day InvestIN weekend: design an architectural brief, build 3D models, create technical drawings and present to practising architects. Build portfolio-ready work, sharpen university and interview applications, and connect with industry mentors.
The Young Architect Weekend is a one-day interactive work-experience programme run by InvestIN Education that lets students test-drive life as an architect. Aimed at students aged 15-18, the programme guides participants through an architectural brief, 3D model building, technical drawing development and group presentations assessed by a panel of experienced architects.
The day also features Q&A sessions and advice on A-level/IB choices, university applications, interviews and extra-curricular activities.
Sessions run with live coaching from practising architects and include career coaching, portfolio workshops and a final showcase where groups present their designs and receive detailed feedback. The programme follows RIBA-aligned guidelines for project work and culminates in an online assessment after which participants receive a personalised certificate to support university applications.
You can attend in-person at University College London (UCL) in Bloomsbury or join remotely via the Live Online option. The next available date listed is 8th March 2026. There is no formal application process - places are reserved by registering and paying on the InvestIN website; places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
