Young Art and Design Summer Experience

The Young Art & Design Summer Experience is a 1-2 week immersive summer school in London for aspiring artists aged 15-18. Based at UCL and the surrounding University of London campus, the programme includes masterclasses in life drawing, sculpting, printmaking, bookbinding, illustration, animation and textiles, plus professional studio practice and portfolio development.

Participants will take part in professional site visits (including sketching from the Tate Modern), receive mentoring and optional 1-to-1 portfolio critiques, and curate an exhibition of their work in a London gallery. Residential students stay in UCL halls with single en-suite rooms, meals, guardianship and evening/weekend activities included; optional airport transfers are offered.

On completion students have their work assessed to receive a Level 3 Award in Work Experience and Career Planning (worth 8 UCAS points), a personalised certificate and an industry reference letter. Programme options include a First Week taster, a Two-Week Experience, and a Two-Week Premium with extra hours and enhanced benefits.
