Young Barbican Takeover Festival 2026 is a one-day festival at the Barbican Centre showcasing live music, workshops, a makers market and more, curated for and by London’s emerging creatives. The festival takes over multiple Barbican spaces including the Conservatory, cinema, Level G foyers and studios, offering performances, screenings, and drop-in creative sessions across the venue.
Across the day there are themed workshops (badge-making, zine-making, knitting/crochet, DJ sets, film programmes and creative practice sessions), live music sessions, poetry performances, roller disco activations, architecture tours and a Makers Market featuring work from young creatives. Sessions are a mix of drop-in and scheduled activities; wristband collection opens at 11:00 and the festival runs 12:00-18:00.
Tickets: general festival pass priced at £12; discounted £10 tickets available for 16-25-year-olds with Young Barbican membership (membership is free). Booking carries a £1. 50 online/phone transaction fee (no fee when booked in person).
The event is aimed at people aged 16+ and is in-person at the Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London (EC2Y 8DS).
