Young Champions of the Earth is a global award run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) that recognises and supports young innovators working on environmental solutions. Winners receive a US$10,000 award, mentorship, workshops, communications training, a smartphone multimedia production kit, and global publicity including speaking and media opportunities.

Applicants must have been working on their environmental idea for at least six months and be between 18 and 30 years old at the end of the calendar year. Winners are expected to share their journeys via self-shot videos and short articles on the UNEP website for up to one year and will be connected to a worldwide community of environmental experts.

Selected Young Champions also have the opportunity to compete in a pitch competition for the Planet A grant of up to US$100,000. Interested applicants are directed to apply via the UNEP online application form.
