The Dentist Summer Experience is an immersive dentistry programme in London that lets students step into the shoes of a dentist and explore what life in the profession is really like. Across the programme, participants take part in hands-on simulations, observe how dental decisions are made, and experience the pace and responsibilities of clinical work in a realistic setting.

Students practise core tasks such as drilling on phantom heads, taking impressions, reviewing x-rays, taking patient histories, and working through ethical case studies. They also explore areas such as orthodontics, surgery, dental public health, pain management, and the wider pathway into dental practice and dental research.

Alongside the practical activities, the programme includes coaching on dental school applications, UCAT preparation, interview practice, and personal statements. Students can attend for one week, two weeks, or an enhanced two-week option, with residential or non-residential choices available.

The programme is based at UCL and nearby London venues, with accommodation available in central London halls for residential students.
