Young Manchester’s Green Economies Youth Hack is a free in-person hackathon challenge for young people aged 16 to 25. Delivered by W Youth, part of Young Manchester, in partnership with Kraken and Green Economy North, the event is designed to introduce attendees to green jobs, networking opportunities, and ideas for the future of the green economy.
During the event, participants can meet local businesses from the green tech, sustainability, and net zero sectors, hear from a panel of business experts, and pitch their own ideas in a Dragon’s Den-style challenge. Young people can choose how they take part, whether they want to network, learn, or get involved in the hackathon activity itself.
The event takes place at Kraken’s accessible Manchester venue and includes free food, live music, and entertainment. Young Manchester also notes that travel support may be available if cost is a barrier, making the event more accessible to young people across Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
