This two-week immersive summer school at d'Overbroeck's in Oxford introduces students aged 13 17 to core concepts in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. Through lectures, tutorials and hands-on coding sessions students learn programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms and languages such as Python and Java, with a focus on practical problem-solving.
Students work on a capstone industry project in partnership with ComputerXplorers using the Unity platform; completing and submitting the project earns a Certificate of Completion and a formal written assessment. The programme also includes industry workshops (a Fujitsu Digital Innovation visit and a visit to The National Museum of Computing) that cover topics like cloud computing, cybersecurity, robotics and ethics in AI.
Residential campus life is provided at d'Overbroeck's School with 24-hour supervision and recreational activities. Excursions include visits to the Ashmolean Museum, Christ Church College, Thorpe Park and a Cambridge walking tour.
Expert instructors (including Aizaz N) guide learning, and airport transfer support for unaccompanied minors is available.
