This one-week, in-person summer course at Nottingham Trent University is designed for 15- to 17-year-olds who want to develop a strong art portfolio and experience university studio life.
Across Monday to Friday (10:00AD16:00) you will experiment with 2D and 3D contemporary techniques, including observational drawing, perspective and colour theory, self-portraiture, moulding and casting, relief mould-making and life casting. Activities include drawing from the city and a prospective gallery/castle visit to support practical work.
Classes are studio-based with small group sizes and one-to-one tutor feedback (25 contact hours). On successful completion you receive a certificate of attendance. The course can also count towards the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential award if both the course and on-campus accommodation are booked and the required social activities are attended.
