Build and test a mini bridge, create a city model and see how drone surveys can shape urban design during a built-environment taster day. Tour engineering labs, meet current students, and try an interactive time-and-cost planning activity for construction.
This Nottingham Trent University taster day gives prospective students the chance to experience what it is like to study courses related to the Built Environment at university. It is designed for anyone considering this area and want to explore how different subjects and careers connect to the wider built environment.
The day includes a Property Management and Development strand covering Property Finance and Investment, Real Estate, Building Surveying, and Property Development and Planning. You will learn about each course, work together to create a city model, and discover how drone-based surveying tools support the analysis and improvement of urban design.
There is also a Civil Engineering taster, where you can explore how engineering supports societies and communities while addressing sustainability. You will build and test a mini bridge, tour NTU’s engineering labs, and speak with current students about projects, fieldwork, and student life.
The event also introduces the roles of Construction Manager and Quantity Surveyor through an interactive activity focused on time and cost planning.
