Patient Support Volunteers

Patient Support Volunteers offer companionship, reassurance and non-clinical support during a patient’s stay in hospital. Working alongside ward staff, patients and carers, they help make the hospital experience as comfortable as possible.

The role focuses on practical and emotional support, giving encouragement and helping patients feel looked after. The Trust offers a range of Patient Support volunteer roles across both Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with full training and support provided.
