N-Compass (Carer Support)

Spend around two hours each week keeping someone company at home, giving their carer time to take a break. Play board games, chat and offer friendly support; you’ll receive training, ongoing support, insurance cover and reimbursed expenses. A DBS check is required.

Make weekly calls to a registered carer as part of a telephone befriending service for unpaid carers. Offer a listening ear, friendly conversation and practical encouragement from your own home, with phone numbers hidden from both sides. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Exchange handwritten letters with a matched carer, offering friendly conversation and emotional support without sharing addresses. You’ll receive training, ongoing support and insurance, plus a DBS check paid for by the organisation.
