Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust

Nigel Slater unpacks the biology and ecology behind plants often dismissed as weeds, from pavement cracks to gardens. Discover the food, medicinal and folklore stories of nettles, dandelions and daisies, with refreshments included.

Take on hands-on conservation volunteering across wetlands, grassland and woodland habitats, while learning about native wildlife. Sessions alternate between Attenborough and Skylarks Nature Reserves in south Nottinghamshire; no previous skills are needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.

Trace Ploughman Wood’s history back to at least the 12th century, using maps, written accounts and physical evidence on the ground. Michael Walker also shows how to apply the same research methods to other local woodlands.
