Amnesty Academy is an online learning platform from Amnesty International offering a broad range of human rights courses. The Academy aims to train a new generation of human rights defenders through action-oriented education, equipping learners with knowledge and practical approaches to take action on human rights issues.

Courses are self-paced and span from basic introductory modules and bite-sized lessons to more advanced courses. Topics covered include introduction to human rights, freedom of expression, indigenous peoples’ rights, the right to freedom from torture, campaigning against the death penalty, and other thematic human rights issues. Content is available in more than 20 languages and some courses provide certificates on completion.

The platform is free to use; learners simply register on the Academy website to begin. No prior knowledge is required, and an email address is used as the Academy username. The courses are delivered entirely online and can be completed at the learner’s own pace.
