Next Generation Young Foresters is a volunteering and adventure club for young people aged 11 to 18. It is designed to give participants an active, outdoor experience while supporting environmental and conservation work with The Heart of England Forest. Young Foresters take part in a mix of practical and adventurous activities in the forest, including bushcraft, outdoor cooking, natural crafts, camps, and forestry or conservation tasks. Robocode Leicester offers structured, qualification-backed tech education for young people at its dedicated centre on Uppingham Road, Leicester. The centre combines its Tech Quest summer camp with weekly Studio Labs, giving children and teens a pathway into coding, robotics, game development, cybersecurity, AI and machine learning, and 3D printing & CAD. The Tech Quest summer camp runs from 17-20 August 2026 and is a four-morning intensive with daily sessions from 10am to 1pm. Students build and program robots, design and test games, and work through hands-on creative tech projects. Younger learners start with circuits and introductory coding, while older students progress into Arduino, C++, Python, and more advanced concepts. The University of Leicester Medical School Outreach programme offers a broad set of free activities for school students to learn about careers in medicine and what studying medicine at university involves. Provision includes virtual taster sessions (e.g., diabetes, sepsis), study-skill sessions for A-level students, targeted applying-to-medicine talks for Years 10-133, virtual work-related projects (with Observe GP) and on-campus Post-16 University Experience Days.

M2 SPED Awareness’s Year 11: Knowledge & Problem-Solving is a remote Neurodiversity Youth Advocate programme designed for Year 11 students across London, Luton, Birmingham and Leicester. The programme introduces evidence-based knowledge about dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and autism and shows participants how to critically evaluate media and research to apply learnings in real-world neurodiverse community contexts. Participants receive mentoring and teaching from university students and professionals in areas including psychology, neuroscience, education and related fields. The programme includes careers-in-focus sessions (healthcare, psychology, education), group problem-solving presentations and applied activities designed to develop public speaking, teamwork, leadership and advocacy skills. Each term features a group presentation activity with small gift-voucher prizes and a Certificate of Participation awarded for full completion. Delivery is remote. Hearing the Archive is an online Tune Supply workshop led by Cleek Schrey that explores how contemporary traditional musicians can learn from historic audio and digitized field recordings. Although the class is based around whistle playing, the ideas and techniques are framed so they can be adapted to any musical instrument. Lancaster University’s Practical Budgeting webinar is designed for applicant students who are due to commence their studies in the 2026/27 academic year. It introduces practical money-management skills for young people who may be living independently for the first time, covering everyday costs such as meals, rent, household items, toiletries, haircuts and bus tickets. The session aims to help attendees understand how to budget effectively and make smarter spending decisions as they prepare for university life. There will be time at the end for questions, giving applicants the chance to get advice and clarify any concerns about managing money. This is an open event and registration is required.
